How long does It Take to Make Money Online?

Making money shouldn’t be your main goal in your life, however we all have to work to make money in order to add more fun and make our lives easier and more interesting.

Making money online is not different from making it offline, i.e. in real life; success doesn’t come fast or easy. Unfortunately, most people don’t understand it.

When it comes to online, most people ask a simple question: How long does it take to start making money online? They think that it should and must be easy and fast.

But reality is different than they might be thinking. Most people want to get rich online fast, and if it doesn’t happen they go after someone who promises to make them rich overnight.

When they realize that the guy who promised them that was a scammer they jump to another product… The problem is they must change their minds and if they don’t do it, they will always be jumping from product to product… I’m going to tell you my story, so you can understand how long it can take to make money on the internet.

My first experience

When I first started to look for the ways to make money on the internet I was completely lost due to abundance of information. I had no any idea how to separate real programs from scams.

I was browsing the web, jumping from site to site, spent many nights and found many different programs, that promised to make me rich, but none of them actually worked.

And finally I came across a website that didn’t promise me any success in X days. Their only promise was that if I followed the certification course, learned some necessary skills and worked hard, then I would become successful within a year or so.

The training centre I’m talking about was Wealthy Affiliate. WA literally changed my mind but this didn’t happen instantly.

It took me some time, learning and putting some efforts in the right direction before I changed my mind because I still wanted to believe in fast success, quick money schemes and magic formulas that promised to make me rich overnight.

Finally, I realized that making money on the internet was not different from making it in real life. You can’t make money if you’re not willing to learn and work. To be honest, it took me a few months before I realized it.

Taking and completing the certification and affiliate Bootcamp courses at WA took about 4 weeks.

The secret to making money online

After completing certification course, I realized that the core of any successful online business was a website content and I started writing content, one article a day until I had 100 pages. It took me about 15 weeks (almost 4 months) to accomplish the task.

When I say writing an article, I mean writing 1000 words per article at least and to the point without fluff. Remember, on the internet, CONTENT leads to traffic and the traffic leads to sales. That is the most guarded secret that leads to online success.

I know it takes time, but without content you will NEVER MAKE SERIOUS MONEY ONLINE. If you want to make money online, you must choose a niche, product and create a website around it and write a lot of content, interesting and helpful to other people.

If you don’t have a website, a product you want to promote and engaging content about your product, then you can’t make any serious money. Unfortunately, most people still don’t realize it, and they still believe in existence of money-making buttons.

But scammers will never tell you all the truth about making money online, because they want you to believe in the idea of easy money on the internet. Why? Because this way they can easily sell you their crappy products.

So, once you have your website, a product to promote and good quality content, you must drive free traffic from search engines. And if you want to see good traffic from search engines and sales accordingly you need to create a good number of pages and fill them with content.

That is the strategy I followed creating my website. Or you can publish one article a day until you reach 100 and then write two articles every week at least. It took me about 3,4 and at times 5 hours to write an article. It was not an easy task but I knew that I was on the right way to my success.

Get ready to work hard

Being a premium member of WA and interacting with other like-minded people was another important step to my success I realized later. I realized that after writing my content I needed to proofread it. I speak 4 languages and English is my second language but that is not the main reason for proofreading my material.

Even if English is your first language you need to proofread your material before you publish it on your website because it is very important for your credibility. To be short, it took me 3 months to proofread all my material and still it’s not perfect. Every week and look through my content and make some corrections.

Once proofreading has been completed I started to publish material on my website. Learning WordPress (website builder) platform along the way and installing all necessary plugins and tools on my website took me another two weeks to accomplish it.

But my work didn’t stop on that. I have been working on my site consistently, writing new content for my website, tracking visitors with Google analytics, engaging on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Pinterest, creating videos on YouTube, interacting with other websites in my niche, interacting with visitors of my own website, replying to emails and helping them with different issues.

As you can see, I was very honest with you and didn’t hide any part of info from you trying to falsely convince you to believe in the idea of easy money. Easy money doesn’t exist. If someone promises you that you can make X amount of money in X days then be aware that he is lying to you.

If you’re not willing to learn and work, if you don’t follow expert’s advice, if you don’t interact with other successful internet marketers trying to benefit from their experience, if you don’t learn SEO and if you don’t want to create content for your website you will never be successful online.

I know that it requires time and efforts to become successful and make serious money on the internet. But we are talking about serious money and not just a few hundred bucks.

Making serious money online requires serious efforts and if you are willing to learn and work hard you can achieve your goals within one year or so. Taking action is as important for your success as is your desire to be successful. I know people who learn but never take action.

Some people that I know, want to become rich but are not willing to work hard. Some people still believe in quick money schemes and magic formulas that promise them a lot of money in X days and that stops them from taking action in the right direction.
